METTERY at GILE 2026 — Booth 2.1A49

9–12 June 2026 — METTERY exhibited at Booth 2.1A49 of GILE 2026 in Pazhou, Guangzhou, turning our outdoor range into a walk-in slice of nature: linear lights tracing a roofline, bollards and spike lights casting onto living moss, and a wall of six wall lights lit side by side so buyers could compare beam patterns in one glance.

About GILE 2026

Founded in 1996, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition returned for its 31st edition on 9–12 June 2026 across Areas A and B of the Canton Fair Complex, running alongside the 23rd Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology show (GEBT). Together they covered more than 210,000 square metres in 21 halls, with 2,802 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions and over 100 conference sessions across four days. The 2026 edition took “dare” as its keyword under the theme “A New Era of Light in Life — Dare to Create, Dare to Exceed”, organised around four spatial scenarios: home, commercial, urban and cultural tourism. Unlike the Guzhen fair in October, June in Pazhou is the year’s densest export window for outdoor lighting — overseas buyers, contractors and design practices all land in the same week, which is exactly the buyer mix an export-oriented factory needs.

Booth 2.1A49: a walk-in slice of nature

Halls 1.1 and 2.1 in Area A were this year’s landscape and cultural-tourism lighting halls, and METTERY stood at 2.1A49. Instead of hanging fixtures on a display rack, we built a six-metre grey facade: two linear lights cut a diagonal “roofline” across it to suggest a home, while the floor below carried artificial turf, moss, pebbles and ferns, with three bollards of different heights, several spike lights and a ring floor lamp throwing light into the planting. The reasoning is simple — an outdoor luminaire only makes sense back in a real scene. Standing inside the booth, a buyer sees what the light does after installation: how many layers a beam makes on moss, how high a bollard washes a wall, whether a ring lamp glares at night — not a white-background catalogue shot.

One wall, six beam patterns

The wall-light wall drew the most attention: six wall luminaires mounted on one plane and lit simultaneously — up-and-down, single-direction downlight, square beam, ring form — lined up side by side. Buyers did not need the spec sheet; from two metres away they could see how far the wall-wash opening angles differed, whether the ground brightness above and below was symmetrical, and how much a honeycomb anti-glare louvre suppressed stray light. To the right sat the IP67 inground range, including adjustable versions set flush into the walkway and rated for foot traffic; further along, a wall of coloured disc lights ran from 2700K warm white into RGB gradients, useful for checking colour consistency within a batch. Every exhibit shared one specification baseline: IP65/IP67, ADC12 die-cast aluminium bodies, PVD or outdoor-grade powder coating, 3SDCM colour consistency within a batch at 3000K/4000K, and CRI ≥ 80 (CRI ≥ 90 on key models).

What buyers asked most

Over four days, buyers from Europe, South Asia and the Middle East converged on four questions: how IP65/IP67 really holds up in humid, salt-laden coastal climates and whether we could show water-jet and aging records; colour consistency within a batch, especially whether 3000K mixed across production lots would show a visible shift on a project; certifications and paperwork — beyond CE and RoHS, INMETRO for Brazilian projects and SASO plus local customs documents for the Middle East; and MOQ and lead time for custom runs under 500 pieces. We answered with integrating-sphere reports, aging logs, water-test footage and certificate lists on the spot, and several buyers moved into sampling and quotation during the show. Every exhibit is still with us at the factory, so samples or a video factory tour can be arranged at any time.
